so , Ive had this ongoing dispute with my neighbor who has a teenage boy that has no respect for anyone. Today, I had enough. I had to get the authorities involved. Our house is on a corner lot and along one side of a yard is our fence and across the street is the house that we have the problem with. They basically walk out of our house and have a nice view of our currently wrecked fence. Anyways, their boy and his gang of friends would pull out their portable basketball hoop and drag it out into the street. Problem being they were using our fence as the backboard and their balls were flying over our fence everynight. One of these balls would potentially hurt Sean badly if it happened to hit him. These boys were so disrespectful for authority they thought it was completely acceptable to let themselves in our backyard to retrieve the basketballs. We told them that had to let us know if they were going back there. Hence the doorbell started ringing several nights a week We finally told the boys they could no longer use our property as their backboard. That worked for about 1 day. They kept dragging it out and dragging it out, finally we told them to stay off our property, they didn't care. So, I decided to confront the mother to handle the issue and she wouldn't come to the door so I left her a message stating to clearly keep her kids and the hoop OFF our property and out of the public street. (oh by the way there were out there playing until 11PM at night on a regular basis-rude) We hadn't had problems in like 4 months and last night they started doing it again, so I said enough and I called the cops today. Shortly, therafter they dragged the portable basketball hoop out of the street. My concern today was with the liability risk of our damaged fence and the nails. If they come on our property they could get hurt until we can get it repaird. Plus we've asked 10 times to get off our property. You think they would get the point. Owell, I feel like a bad neighbor, but I was really ticked after ALL of the times we told them they were still up to the same old crap. Would you have done the same? Maybe I should have done it sooner!
