ah,,,the weekend....

Where does it go? seems like the weekends fly by so quick and then I'm back at work. I sure wish there was a better balance with my work and family life. I'd like to see it about 50/50 instead of 75/25...Maybe even 40/60 would be ideal. Sean has been doing so well with his speech. It's quite fascinating... he can't tell us he doesn't want his shirt removed, but he will sing start to finish without missing a beat or a lyric, any 10 children's songs he has memorized. It was a rather rainy weekend in MS, so we stayed indoors. I recently fired my housekeeper so I have the joys of cleaning on my own. The only way I can mop is when Sean goes down for his nap, and I am afraid those days are coming to an end. We recently pulled Sean out of his preschool when he was falsely accused of causing teacher turnover. We made the mistake of telling his daycare director about his speech delay and between that and him being the youngest in the class... she targeted him as being "difficult". Sean is far from difficult , he is an absolute joy that smiles and plays on his own. I told her the reason she had so much turnover (4 teachers in the 2 year old class since the hurricane) was because of poor interviewing and lack of pay...and there was a small chance that her employment setting is struggling like the rest of small businesses on the coast. I started calling new preschool centers and they are all having staffing issues.... Anyways, trying to get Sean into a new preschool by next Monday. If the next school doesn't work out, Ian & I are going to have to discuss other alternatives. Yesterday why waiting on my pathfinder to get detailed, I was reminded that is was the 20th anniversary of the Shuttle Challenger's misfortune. It was amazing to thing that I was in the 5th grade standing outside in Florida, watching it all happen from my history classroom. Where does the time go. I remember my dad coming home and being very sad... for those of you who don't know my dad spent his entire life dedicated to the space program. Anyways... I'll take a moment and thank all of those families who develop astronauts that sometimes sacrifice their lives in hopes of a better way of life for us. The picture is of Sean's mini fro before his mom and dad gave him a trim... look at those curls!
