When I made the transition from full time work to full time mom, I decided I needed to make some friends. So I took a plung. Started a local blog for moms and a mommy playgroup. Well, my playgroup has grown to almost 30 members in it's first month and now when you do a google search for "ocean springs mom", the blog I write pops up first and the mom group secondly... yahoo. My goal on the blog is to sell advertising to the local community. It's still low in traffic, but it will get there. Needless to say both of these have taken almost 100% of any free time one could possibly have being a stay at home mom. I did put a feeler out for jobs in the local market and the biggest casino player on the coast pays exactly 1/2 of what I made at my former job... ugghh not worth my time at all. So I won't be looking for employment anytime soon in the local market.
