Aidan was a little behind in walking and he officially has more services helping him out right now than Sean does in his school district (by the way he's walking & running now). Ian & I have been working close with a very aggressive advocate and making strides on Sean's education. We have been granted an Independent Educational Evaluation from a doctor that is outside the school district. We hope that her findings will help build him a better Independent Educational Plan. At least we can expect the results to be impartial to the politics of the school district. They agreed to the IEE and a in school observation of Sean. They haven't agreed to pay for the doctor who gives him the IEE to present her findings at the IEP meeting. Ian & I may have to take a look and try to pay for that. I can't imagine how much a doctor charges per hour to present her findings.. .eek. If we are not satisfied with the outcome, we will place Sean in a private specialty school. We will only give him the best education available to help him succeed. We see great things in Sean's future and we want to give him all of the tools to get there. I'm currently looking for a soccer program that Sean can play in. I've got my feelers out to a couple soccer leagues that have programs for kids like Sean. They are non competitive. I've found a new friend out here. I met her through our local Aspergers group and I really enjoy spending time with her. Ian also met a family from the neighborhood at the park last weekend with Sean. They will be coming over the the house on Friday, it's Tex-Mex take out at the Thomas house. They have a 20 months daughter that I hear is quite the climber. I think I'm feeling a margarita.
