I took the boys to the park tonight. We went to a small park on the north-side of Grapeviine. Sean has become quite the climber, and well Aidan is becoming a slide expert. Weeee he says as he goes down. We had a little picnic outside a cute water fountain at the botanical gardens and then rushed out as the rain rolled in. Ian started his work week off early this week. They had to twist his arm to go to San Fran. He called me from Ghiradelli Square and the Warf. I know he's missing us though. He promised to home some Ghiradelli chocolate. Saturday, I took Sean down to Arlington. We toured a private school called The Flint Academy. It's not the most cosmetically appealing private school, however the beliefs and teaching skills they provide are right up our ally. It's the second year the school has been open and they have grown from 50 to 100 students. The program covers pre-k 3 years old up to high school. Their philosophy is, no student fails. If a student tests 70%, they take a look at the material they didn't pass and teach it again until they pass. They work with kids with Aspergers, ADHD and other disabilities, and most of their siblings attend the school as well. It's a good mix. The highlight of our weekend was Ian's sister Shirley, husband Mike, and daughters (my nieces) Brooke, Morgan and Aubrey came over. We also had both Brooke & Morgan's boyfriends too. We had such a wonderful time, except poor Aidan woke up with a flaming ear infection and no pain killer could get him from screaming. We had lots of food and desert. I've really enjoyed getting to know that side of my family and I feel lucky to have such great family nearby! Aidan will be getting ear tubes on 4/4. I'll be getting my gall bladder removed... I think next weekend... not sure, his nurse went out of town at a bad time. She called me last week to say the doctor wouldn't allow me to wait until April to have it removed because I was risking my health. I am sure I will feel much better when it's gone. I'm pretty much in pain about an hour after I eat every meal, sometimes longer. I can't even sleep on my right side. Oye!
