we left grapevine last night, two hours into our trip, I receive a call that my father is going downhill and the decision has been made to remove his feeding tube today. Rushing down there will not help me at this point because he is on heavy pain medication and will remain that way until he essentially starves to death under the care of hospice. Ian & I are going to go ahead to Asheville and then it looks like next weekend I will be going home for services and then back home to Mississippi, as my father will be laid to rest in our family cemetery in meadville, next to his mom and dad.
